Christopher Combs

Attorney

Christopher Combs is a seasoned criminal law attorney whose diverse background in public service, ministry, and advanced education uniquely equips him to advocate for clients with insight, balance, and unwavering integrity. His path to the legal profession reflects a lifelong commitment to serving others, leading communities, and standing up for justice.

Mr. Combs brings significant experience on both sides of the criminal justice system. From April 1, 2022 through February 2025, he served as the First Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney for the 15th Judicial Circuit, where he prosecuted serious felony offenses, supervised case strategy, and collaborated closely with law enforcement to ensure matters were handled professionally and ethically. Before becoming a prosecutor, he served as a Public Defender in the Campbell County Trial Office and the Boone County, Kentucky Trial Office, gaining invaluable experience defending clients, protecting constitutional rights, and developing a deep respect for due process. His dual background as both prosecutor and defender gives him a rare, comprehensive understanding of how cases are built, challenged, and resolved.

Before entering the legal field, Mr. Combs served his community as a firefighter and paramedic, responding to emergencies with calm leadership and compassion. This early career shaped his ability to manage crisis, communicate clearly, and support people during their most difficult moments—skills that have carried naturally into his legal practice.

Mr. Combs pursued an ambitious course of study in law school, graduating with honors and earning a dual degree: a Juris Doctorate and a Master of Business Administration. His legal and business training provides clients with both sharp analytical skill and strategic perspective, ensuring that every case is approached with a combination of legal precision and real‑world understanding.

In addition to his legal education, Mr. Combs holds a Master of Theology with an emphasis in Church Administration from Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee. His dedication to ministry and leadership in faith-based settings remains a vital part of his life. In recognition of his work, achievements, and commitment to service, Lee University named him the LEE Online Alumni of the Year in 2021.

Outside the courtroom, Mr. Combs serves as the pastor of Orchard Terrace Church of God in Cold Spring, Kentucky, where he provides guidance, support, and leadership to his congregation. He balances his professional and pastoral responsibilities with devotion to his family. Mr. Combs has been married to his wife, Dr. Amanda Combs, since August 2002, and together they are the proud parents of four children.

In his personal time, he enjoys collecting sports memorabilia, attending Cincinnati Broadway productions, and cheering on his lifelong favorite teams—the Cincinnati Bengals and Cincinnati Reds.
