James Meyrat is an associate attorney with Burns & Hassman, LLC, bringing more than twenty years of litigation experience representing creditors in real estate litigation and foreclosure matters. Licensed originally in Texas, James began his career in representing individuals and families in criminal defense, family law, and probate cases. During that time, he successfully tried numerous bench and jury trials. Over the course of his career, James expanded his practice to represent businesses in complex civil matters, including real estate litigation, unfair trade practices, and breach of contract disputes. In 2023, James relocated to Kentucky to pursue the opportunity to practice criminal defense with the Department of Advocacy, where he developed an exceptional record of success using pretrial motions to obtain dismissals on behalf of indigent clients. Outside the office, James is an avid road cyclist and a dedicated father of five children.
